The Ten Commandments in SC

Dear Friends, I want to thank you, again, for your action when the need arises. Your calls to legislators have been more valuable than words can describe. Your prayers for this state are crucial to the survival of social decency and high moral standards. I need your help once more. The South Carolina Senate is debating H 3159, a bill that allows references to God and the Ten Commandments to remain in public displays. The American Civil Liberties Union does not want this bill to pass. I need you to call your Senator and ask him to support passing this bill before the Senate adjourns on June 5. The bills says that historical documents and educational or informational material regarding the background of American law may be used in displays, monuments, plaques, or similar fixtures in public places like courthouses and schools. It goes on to name specific documents that help explain the history of American constitutional law. The bill lists eleven documents to be displayed. The Ten Commandments, Magna Carta, Declaration of Independence, and the Bill of Rights of the United States Constitution are among those listed. Please make the call as soon as possible. We need to encourage our Senators to pass H 3159 before this session is adjourned.

Thank you,

Joe Mack, Office of Public Policy

    2. What is the objective of the 10 commandments being posted in public places?
Is it to show that all have broken them and therefore we need Christ as our Lord?
Or is it to encourage humankind to obey what they cannot possible do?
